Back to Subjects MenuWhat is it to be a Artist at BCHS?
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.”-Pablo Picasso
At BCHS you will be encouraged to explore and develop your own creative practice within a variety of media. Our aim is to inspire young artists and visionaries and instil a love of art in all. Art and Design is a subject that develops your visual values and awareness of the world around us. It teaches you to develop practical skills such as the craft of drawing, but more importantly we encourage our students to use their imagination to explore ideas and then sustain a process of design from initial concept to final completion. These are transferable skills and disciplines that are so valuable in many different fields of work.
