Dress Code
It is essential that all students adhere to the sixth form dress code. A copy of the dress code is on display outside the sixth form office. School is a learning environment and therefore a place of work.
It is expected that all students will wear a lanyard at all times on the school premises. If students forget their lanyard, they may get a spare lanyard from the sixth form office. If a student loses their lanyard there is a £5.00 replacement fee.
Smart and respectable attire to be worn:
- Smart, plain shirt with collar, or blouse with sleeves
- Ties to be worn with shirts
- Smart, plain polo shirts can be worn in place of a shirt and tie in the summer term only - blue, black or grey only (no logos)
- Smart, plain tailored trousers or skirts – blue, black or grey only
- Smart, plain business dresses – blue, black or grey only
- If worn, skirt/ dress length and style should be professional and formal
- Smart plain school jumper, cardigan or quarter zip – blue, black or grey only (no logos)
- Blazers/ Suits are optional – no other form of jacket to be worn inside
- Hoodies, sweatshirts, leather garments and tracksuit tops are not permitted
- Tights or ankle length socks to be worn with skirts/dresses – black, grey or white only
- Shoes – smart, leather style, plain shoes only
- Trainers /sports shoes /sandals /open-toe shoes / heels over 2 inches are not permitted
- Outdoor coats – plain colour (no logos)
- Lanyards - Identification lanyards are to be worn at all times – provided by the school
- Jewellery – a single, discreet necklace, wristwatch and earrings are permitted but for health and safety reasons should be removed for practical subjects
- Facial piercings are not permitted
- Nails should be kept at a reasonable length for health and safety reasons. Subtle colours are permitted.
- Cultural or religious headwear should be blue, black or grey
- The school has proudly adopted the Halo code
- Hair dyes, if used, should be natural colours, extreme colours such as blue, green or purple are not appropriate
The positive atmosphere of our Sixth Form is important to all of us and the Sixth Form team do not want to spend time on uniform infringements.
