Bad Weather and Emergency Closure Procedure

Events like heavy snowfall may require the school to close. When this happens, we use established procedures to notify parents and students quickly and efficiently.

In the event that the school has to close, information for parents will be provided through the following channels:

  • An email/text will be sent to all parents and carers via the My Child At School App (MCAS).
  • BBC Essex (103.5) and Heart Essex FM (96.3 or 102.6) Snow lines
  • Essex County Council - https://www.essex.gov.uk/emergency-school-closures
  • BCHS Website 
  • Social Media

An email will also be sent to all parents and carers through the My Child At School (MCAS) app. Please ensure we have your up‑to‑date email address, and notify us of any changes so messages reach you without delay.
